San Miguel de Allende is a beautiful colonial town in the Eastern part of the state of Guanajuato. It is about 4 hours north of Mexico City and an easy ride by first class ETN bus from the Northern Bus Terminal in Mexico City. It is an artists town as well as a retirement enclave especially for the snowbirds from the USA and Canada. The population is getting more diverse though as options for working remotely continue to develop and more people are finding out about this little gem. With a well-preserved historic center, outstanding restaurants, organic cafes, boutiques, hotels, airbnb’s, great library that has the second largest selection of English titles, cultural activities, UNESCO declaration as a World Heritage Site, colorful festivals and great weather what more could we ask for? We can’t wait to begin!!
UPDATE:
We are now living in our beautiful new home town and it is all we hoped for and more!! We hope you enjoy reading about our experiences of life in San Miguel de Allende and being an expat in Mexico.
